1. Using
SNAPSHOT to build up a picture of audiences
SNAPSHOT data
provides an excellent way to compare arts
attendance in different areas. In this example
we show how to use the CultureMap SNAPSHOT
penetration layer and sub layers.
2. Audience
statistics from CIPFA
The Chartered
Institute of Public Finance and Accounting
(CIPFA) statistics can be used to build up
a picture of audience attendance and satisfaction.
The traditional datasets focus on Library
use but there is a new cultural dataset which
is also included in CultureMap.
3. Tourism
visits
These statistics
are taken from the Local Area Tourism Impact
Model reports supplied by the LDA and provide

overall IMD score and IMD sub categories.
It also shows how to use the IMD ‘change’
variable that maps differences between 2004
and 2007 data.
2. A CENSUS
summary
CultureMap
contains a large number of Census variables
and sub layers and these can be used to build
a detailed summary for a specific area.
3. Using
MOSAIC
Mosaic is a
powerful geo-demographic classification system
that enables users to profile different areas
and understand how the resident’s motivations,
lifestyles and behaviors vary. CultureMap
contains layers for each of the Mosaic Groups.
